About Susan

I believe that art is a reflection of life. It is a fluid entity with boundaries that change through time and if true, transcend time. Artists of the past and present speak to me with their music, their stories and poems but it is with painters that I feel particularly touched.

I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember. After college, I taught drawing and painting at the secondary level. After that, I branched out in other directions illustrating children's books, working as a set director for the Smithsonian and later at a maritime museum in New York.

Presently I am in the field of advertising but I continue to draw and paint, concentrating on the medium of watercolor which pushes me to perfect my drafting skills and come to grips with color theory.
